There is alway a place for a japanese maple is the yard.  They are versatile in the landscape and the variety is amazing.  There are several different groups of maples based on how they grow, the color, and size.  The flexibility of the species lends to a versatility that allows maples to be used for a specimen, accent plant, shrub border, grouping or bonsia.
